All of the images have been taken with transparency films. Many were made specifically for an artist's requirement of submitting slides in competitions. Others were made with large format films for reproduction in magazines and large presentations. These works of art required a wide variety of lighting techniques. One does not just point a camera and click the shutter. The simplest piece might be a drawing on paper but even that requires even lighting of a consistent color quality. Some two dimensional pieces may require the frame to be included, which, in most cases causes some narrow shadows along the edges. Other times there may be highlight reflections from heavily worked oils using palette knives. All of these considerations take time and experience to obtain the best quality images. There is a continuing requirement for the use of slides in presentations. This includes numerous higher education institutions for potential faculty in the arts arena. If you live in the Houston, Texas area and need slides or larger film shots of your work or if you have a gallery and need film documentation, contact us. We do digital as well. Here are the pieces. |
